About Mark and Matt Ranger
Our Client-First Philosophy
There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate professional - integrity, in-depth community and market knowledge, product knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills and a high-quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how we work.
That said, in our experience as a Kelowna real estate professionals, we have also found that providing the very best service is essentially about putting our clients first. This means keeping ourselves accessible, being a good listener as well as a good communicator, and responding quickly to your needs.
This "client first" philosophy has always been our approach and it requires us to continually improve our skills and ways of doing business in this fast paced rapidly changing market. In addition, we have found that the latest technologies are enabling us to do everything we've always done, only much more quickly and efficiently. They've also helped us extend the range of services we provide our clients.
We believe who you choose as a Realtor is a very important decision.
There are many important questions you should ask of any Realtor you might consider working with. You should have a gut instinct that the person you select is going to look out for your interests and above all that you have a comfortable confidence with them. You are entrusting the Realtor you choose with the most precious asset you family holds... your home. Consequently, you will want to ensure that in addition to possessing the experience, education and marketing savy necessary to get your home sold in the shortest period of time with the least inconvenience to you, your chosen professionals personality meshes well with your own.
I have lived in Kelowna since 1971, when I moved here with my parents. I've seen a lot of changes since then when our population was a third of what it is today. After completing high school (KSS 1975) I attended Okanagan College eventually moving to the coast and persuing a Bachelor of Business Administration and Economics from Simon Fraser University (1981). My wife and I returned to Kelowna soon after our educations and four years later started to raise a family (son Matthew and daughter Kimberly).
We have lived in a number of homes in Kelowna and consequently have experienced a lot of the lifestyle and economic mistakes I help clients avoid. As a builder, we have lived in "spashy" new homes and as a renovator we have lived in character resale homes. There are benefits to each of course. We are certainly most happy with the home where we now reside. A home is hard thing to describe. Certainly, each home is as different as the family that lives there. Each though has one thing in common, that indescribable sense of "home" for it's occupants.
My business experience prior to Real Estate was with the likes of Vancouver Community College (labour relations & personnel), Xerox Corp. and Pitney Bowes. Each of these careers helped fashion my approach to marketing, sales and negotiating. The truth is I am not a "salesman", never have been, as much as a problem solver. I don't want to "sell a refrigerator to an Eskimo" but I'd be happy to help them find the right furnace. I do believe than a methodic approach to marketing is key to the success of any business venture and that marketing should be for a product of lasting value for the business to prosper through repeat business by loyal customers. You need to "earn the right" every day to do business with your customers tomorrow.
To make up for my lack of "sales skills" I am a strong negotiator. I typically don't lose when I am negotiating for the right thing under the right and fair terms. If that is sales so be it... I can live with that. I believe in honesty above all and will not compromise myself or others in that. Honesty and integrity are the foundations of any lasting relationship. I have been a Realtor now for 15 years, enjoy my business immensely and can't imagine doing anything else. The success of my past 15 years is based on a simple formula "treat others as you would like to be treated yourself". From that flows the opportunity to continue doing what I do.
Recently my son, Matt, has joined me as a partner in my business. Matt was born and raised in Kelowna and attended The Univeristy of British Columbia where he earned his Bachelor of Business degree. He is a personable youn man full of enthusiasm who is a most welcome addition.

I am dedicated to selling your home or finding you that dream home you are searching for. You are invited to browse my website and call or e-mail me with any questions you have about buying or selling a home in the area.
Buying a home?
Your satisfaction is my top priority! I will take the time to listen to your needs and desires and help you find your dream home. My automated search system will alert us of the newest listings that meet your specific criteria. This will ensure you get a head start on those "HOT" new listings which typically sell before they show up in public reports such as mls.ca.
Selling your home?
I will get your home sold for top dollar and in a timely manner. My online and offline marketing programs give me the edge needed to make this possible. Especially in today's market there is a right way and a wrong way to "get the highest price, in the shortest period of time and with the least inconvenience to a home seller". These aren't tricks, they are time proven methods of making the market work to your best advantage. I would be happy to discuss these marketing strategies with you in person.
So when you decide that you'd like to buy or sell a home in the Kelowna areas, please contact me.
